YouTube sensation Rebecca Black became a household name with, “Friday,” a vanity video single produced by Ark Music Factory. Now major retailer Kohls is using a version of “Friday” in one of its Black Friday 2011 ads.
Major retailers such as Kohls, Target, Walmart, Kmart and Macy's notoriously compete for Black Friday business the day after Thanksgiving. Black Friday is meant to help these retailers get out of the red and into the black before the year is over. Ad leaks, television commercials and catchy songs come out weeks before Black Friday to entice customers to the stores.
